Mohanlal in Khalifa; Prithviraj Reveals Major Update

Mohanlal in Khalifa: Mohanlal, the matinee idol of Malayalam cinema, will make his entry into the much-awaited ‘Khalifa’, which is helmed by Vaishakh Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The character that Mohanlal portrays is that of Mamparakkal Ahmad Ali in the second part of the movie, while Prithviraj reprises his role as Aamir Ali from the first part.

The First Glimpse and Character Introduction

Earlier glimpses of Khalifa were teases of Mamparakkal Ahmad Ali and even some hints about his moves like stints with Mrs. Gandhi, but the actor who would be playing him was kept under tight wraps. The latest rounds of news, however, confirm that Mohanlal would be that powerful presence for this character’s role, and fans across and outside Kerala are already buzzing with excitement.

Production and Locations

Khalifa filming began in early August in London. The film also promises to shoot at several notable locations, including Dubai, India, and Nepal, thus promising an aesthetically rich experience in the cinema scope. The film would be made big, in terms of budget, including action sequences and very stunning visuals, to reach out to a pan-Indian audience.

The film features other celebrated names along with Mohanlal and Prithviraj, including Jinu Abraham. Khalifa part one is set to release during Onam 2026.
