Gold Price Rise or Fall in 2026:
Gold has always been a trusted investment for Indians, and its price movements are closely watched by buyers and traders. In 2025, gold became a major talking point after reaching a record high. On October 20, the price of 24-carat gold touched ₹1.35 lakh for 10 grams, the highest ever. Although the price dropped slightly after that, it started rising again in December and is now close to the same record level. With such rapid changes, many people are curious about what might happen to gold prices in 2026.
According to a new report released by Goldman Sachs, gold could continue to rise sharply in the coming year. Their outlook suggests that by the end of 2026, gold may even cross $5000 per ounce in the international market. This means prices may increase nearly 20% from current levels. If this trend continues in India, experts believe that 24-carat gold could reach around ₹1.45 lakh for 10 grams.
Goldman Sachs identified several global reasons for this expected rise. One major factor is the strong demand for gold from central banks around the world, especially China. Many countries are reducing their reliance on the US dollar and increasing their gold reserves instead. China, in particular, is buying gold in large quantities and may continue to do so through 2026. This shift helps these countries protect themselves from currency fluctuations while also weakening the dollar’s value.
In addition, analysts expect the US Federal Reserve to cut interest rates in 2026. When interest rates fall, the dollar usually becomes weaker. A weaker dollar often leads to higher gold prices because gold becomes more attractive to investors looking for safety.
While several signs point to rising gold prices, these predictions are not guaranteed. Gold, like all investment assets, comes with risks. Economic changes, geopolitical events, and market trends can influence prices unexpectedly. Anyone planning to invest should consult a certified financial advisor before making decisions.
