Dileep Case: The unstoppable force that was once considered the actor in Malayalam cinema has shaken his career with the actress assault case that came up in 2017. Accusations and a long rigmarole in court created a huge gulf between Dileep and a considerable part of his audience, particularly women. After coming out of remand custody, Ramaleela was the only one to achieve commercial success; the subsequent releases failed to restore his star value.
Dileep’s saga celebrated and sang loud of an ordinary life story that crawled to the top of Malayalam cinema. Just as Dileep’s career was at the peak of popularity- evident through his central participation in the all-star cast production Twenty:20-the prosecution and the presently shattering case have damaged his image. While he stacked a formidable number of movies most recently, fans stayed away. None of Kammara Sambhavam, Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan, Voice of Sathyanathan, Bandra, Thangamani, or Pavi Caretaker could have restored Dileep to his erstwhile prominence.
Even his latest release under the title Prince and Family has mixed reactions despite being claimed as successful releases.
Dileep’s story truly remains one of the quick rises into stardom and quick falls of stardom in Malayalam cinema.
