If any film by Shahid Kapoor fails to earn even Rs 20 crore in the first weekend. The film which is in the 10th position in the 10 highest-grossing films of Shahid Kapoor on the opening weekend is the film ‘Mausam’ released in 2011. It earned Rs 20.75 crore in the first weekend and the film flopped. And, his new film ‘Deva’ earned only Rs 7.15 crore in the opening weekend as per the latest reports.

Director Roshan Andrews, who came from Malayalam cinema. Has made a Hindi remake of his 2013 film ‘Mumbai Police’ under the name ‘Deva’. The result became clear on the first day itself when the film ‘Deva’, released at a budget of about Rs 80 crore, could not earn even 10 per cent of its release cost at the box office.


Shahid Kapoor’s Struggles Continue

The film ‘Deva collected only Rs 5.50 crore on the first day of its release at the domestic box office. The film did get the benefit of the Saturday holiday and on the second day of its release. Its earnings saw a jump of about 16%, but this earning of Rs 6.40 crore is also not good enough to improve its condition. The film’s earnings on Sunday were around Rs 7.15 crore. According to the reports, the film’s first-weekend collection at the domestic box office was only Rs 19.05 crore. Shahid‘s previous film ‘Teri Baatein Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, which recovered its cost at the box office after a lot of struggle, did a business of Rs 26.52 crore on its first weekend.
