Dhurandhar vs Animal: Why Women and Girls Are Choosing Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar vs Animal: Why Women and Girls Are Choosing Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar vs Animal: A visible trend is emerging across theatre houses nationwide: women and girls turning up in large numbers for Dhurandhar, despite the terrible violence, blood, and rough language in the film. What is more interesting is that it is this viewing audience that largely denounces Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The reason, it seems, lies not in the violence but rather in the treatment of women in the film.

Violence Is Not an Obstacle- Misogyny Is

Female audiences who avoided Animal had a considerable tendency toward rejecting the film because it glorified misogyny, objectified women, and transformed the female characters into props. In contrast, that might be Dhurandhar, brutal, harsh and raw, but viewers note that it does not deprecate women or treat them as mere accessories to the hero’s mission. Hence the women, who outrightly refused to watch Animal, are now flocking in great numbers to Dhurandhar without a second thought. The trend hides a very significant point: women do not reject violent cinema; they reject the cinema that disrespects them.

Age Gap Talk Nailing It Anew

Another contrasts that appeals to consideration is the public response to the age-gap romance feature. A number of women felt that the rumored pairing of Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in Sikandar sounded uncomfortable, adding that the gap was not only unnecessary but also forced. Yet, the difference between Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun-the real life-about 20 years in Dhurandhar goes without much criticism. A very teenage-looking Sara Arjun is still a plausible match within the film’s world.

Female audiences argue that this dynamic working in Dhurandhar is contextual, justified by the storyline, and sensitively handled. Unexploitative, unmanufactured chemistry hasn’t triggered the same sense of discomfort.

Viewpoint on Changing Cinema

Ultimately, the conclusion regarding Dhurandhar is that women audience members are much more conscientious than stereotypes depict. What they refuse is not intensity itself, rather, that disrespect towards them finds its way into storytelling. And when the storytelling respects female characters, women reward it with their attendance regardless of genre and age gaps.
