Imtiaz Ali and Fahadh Faasil Team Up? Director Spills the Beans. Imtiaz Ali, the mastermind behind some of the classic films that Bollywood have ever produced. The brilliant director made his directorial debut with the 2005 film Socha Na Tha, starring Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia. Imtiaz has also directed films including Jab We Met, Highway, Rockstar and recent sensation Amar Singh Chamkila featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. Now Imtiaz Ali revealed his next project in recent round table conversations.
In a recent roundtable conversation, Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali was asked if he would reveal details about his upcoming film. The director said, “This announcement is out, but it’s like a little ahead of its time. There is a movie, but I don’t know, it might not be the next one up. But, yes, I’ve been trying to make this film for a long time. It’s called The Idiot of Istanbul.” Imtiaz even revealed the title of his upcoming film in his own way called “The Idiot of Istanbul” raising the curiosity.
Director Imtiaz Ali even shared the exciting news about the main lead in the film. The jab We Met director confirmed that Fahadh Faasil will play the lead in his upcoming project. Ali said, “I would like it…yeah. I would love to do this. And now, since you’ve cornered me, I don’t know why I’m not supposed to say this. But yes, my plan is to make this film with Fahadh.” If it ever happens, “The Idiot of Istanbul” marks the Bollywood debut of Fahadh Faasil.
Recently Fahadh Faasil was seen in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule. In a recent interview, the Avesham actor revealed that he wanted to concentrate on Malayalam films yet he is seen in Telugu and Tamil films. With Imtiaz Ali’s project, there are high chances of Fahadh making his Bollywood debut with “The Idiot of Istanbul”. Imtiaz Ali got all the praise for his recent work in the biopic Amar Singh Chamkila starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
