What Happened In Concert

Recently, Diljit Dosanjh performed his concert Dil-Luminati Tour in Hyderabad. Though he was instructed not to sing songs promoting alcohol Diljit Dosanjh performed the concert with the instructions. Diljit said that he was a teetotaler and ready to take a pledge not to sing songs promoting alcohol given the alcohol shops were shut everywhere. In the concert, Diljit Dosanjh tweaked the words in his songs with Lemonade and 5 Taara. These songs originally had daaru which means alcohol and theka which says liquor stores in their lyrics. He intentionally changed the lyrics after receiving the notice from the Telangana government about Alcohol word usage ahead of the Hyderabad concert. The Daaru in the song became ‘Coke’ whereas theka in 5 Taara became a hotel avoiding the controversy.

Kangana’s Bold Statement

Actor Kangana Ranaut reacted to the incident that took place related to the Hyderabad concert. Where the Telangana Government specifically intruscted not to perform songs that include drugs, Alcohol and violence. In a recent interview, When Kangana Ranaut was asked if she would address this in Parliament, the actress said “Artistic expression is not dependent on anything. Himachal folk music has so many such songs. In art, it’s the emotions that matter. To each their own. That being said, when it comes to habits like substance abuse, it is not just the government’s responsibility but also that of the general public.”
