Dude Day 2 Collections: Actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan continually maintains his box office status with his latest offering Dude. To have appeared in only three films and directed one and yet have garnered this kind of fame is what most young stars are aspiring to. After the gigantic success of Love Today and Dragon, Dude has mostly taken over the theaters. The film opened on Friday, October 17, after the Diwali weekend. It was received well in both Tamil and Telugu markets all over.
As per the producer, Dude bagged a whopping ₹45 crore gross worldwide within just two days since its release, ditto for trade updates. The movie stands as the biggest opening ever in Pradeep Ranganathan’s career to trade trackers’ evidence. Koimoi states that ₹10.5 crore net share in India on its Day 1. Both versions in Tamil and Telugu put to immediate success.
Dude had already crossed the previous best entry for Pradeep, Dragon, by more than 61% on the opening day, thanks to the exponentially growing fan base and box office power of Pradeep.
The alluring female lead for the film would be Mamitha Baiju, whose popularity among South Indian audiences, especially after the movie Premalu, has served as one of the attractions of the film. The harmony between Pradeep and Mamitha and the mixture of romance, action, and comedy cut across the board with the people.
With direction and story by Keerthiswaran and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar for Mythri Movie Makers, Dude has been rated positively for its humour and engaging scripts. Trade analysts are predicting around ₹35 crore in terms of collection from India alone over the extended Diwali weekend.
Good start and positive word of mouth make Dude likely secure Pradeep Ranganathan’s position with being one of the most bankable young stars in Tamil cinema.
