Idli Kadai Advance Bookings: Dhanush is a name in Tamil films associated with versatility and bankability, with unforgettable performances in some really impactful movies. Idli Kadai is the latest release by this actor, intriguing on the title itself as well as its fresh story. However, advance booking reports reveal that the film seems to have a pretty uphill task to pull audience attendance on the day of release.
As per verified data, Idli Kadai earned around ₹1.49 crore in advance booking revenues in India and ticket sales stood around 94,000 for its opening day. The film is being shown in 3,252 shows, the majority of which are in Tamil Nadu. These figures will appear hardly anything when compared to what has been expected from a star like Dhanush.
Interestingly, a lion’s share of the block seat amounting to ₹3.46 crore. Which does not translate anyway to real-time ticket sales. In such a backdrop, the hype around the performance looks miniscule. The average ticket price (ATP) is ₹171, which is reasonable enough but still. It does not seem to capture footfalls gratifyingly as per usual Dhanush expectations.
So much for a mild response. First up, the promotion of Idli Kadai has not been aggressive by any means compared to other Tamil films on a larger scale. Secondly, the last few movies of Dhanush have turned out mixed bag boxes. And this would impact initial excitement from audiences. Last, the viewers may be distracted by competition from other regional as well as pan-Indian movies.
Though very meager in advance booking, Idli Kadai can still expect its possible turnaround with good word-of-mouth and reviews after release. Dhanush has a sounding fan base when the film connects with the audience; they increase occupancy further through the weekend.

The advance booking figures of Idli Kadai only suggest that Dhanush seems to be struggling to draw audiences on the first day. Audience verdict will determine whether the film buckles up its box-office fortunes or rather solidifies the cautious beginning.
