Akshay Kumar’s Generous Contribution to Punjab Flood Relief

Akshay Kumar has once again proven why he’s known as one of Bollywood’s most compassionate stars. Amidst the devastating floods in Punjab, the actor has contributed Rs 5 crore to aid in relief and rehabilitation efforts. He humbly referred to this act as “sewa, not donation.”

A Humble Gesture for Punjab

In a statement, Akshay shared, “I am giving Rs 5 crore for relief material, but who am I to donate? I feel blessed to help when I get the chance.” He expressed his hope for the swift end of the natural disaster that’s affected his fellow Punjabis, saying, “This is my small contribution, and I pray that this calamity passes soon. Rab mehr kare.”

Akshay Kumar ‘s Long History of Philanthropy

This isn’t Akshay Kumar’s first act of kindness. The actor has consistently supported various relief efforts, from the Chennai floods to the Covid-19 pandemic. He has donated to causes like the PM-CARES Fund, the families of CRPF soldiers, and Kerala flood victims. Akshay also co-launched the Bharat Ke Veer initiative in 2017, providing financial aid to families of martyred soldiers. His contributions have spanned across disaster relief, healthcare, and daily wage workers’ support.
