Alia Bhatt is known for her bold, emotional, and powerful roles. From the fierce Gangubai Kathiawadi to the emotionally raw Darlings, she has taken on complex characters with ease. But now, the actress is eyeing something new, a genre she never explored – comedy.
In a recent interview with a media house Alia revealed that she has never done a comedy film. And more importantly, she shared the personal reason why the genre now appeals to her.
Alia admitted she wants to create a film her daughter can enjoy. “I haven’t made a film that my daughter can watch,” she said. “These are little things that come from within.” Since becoming a mother to Raha Kapoor, Alia says her priorities have shifted. She hopes to blend her personal and professional life by taking on projects that feel more family-friendly.
When asked why she hasn’t explored comedy earlier, Alia gave a simple answer: it never felt right. “The reason I’m being pulled towards a comedy is because I haven’t done one,” she explained. “You have to find something that is inspiring you.” She also added that she prefers to trust her instincts when choosing roles, rather than follow advice from others.
Though she didn’t confirm any upcoming comedy projects, Alia hinted that something exciting is in the works. “There is some exciting stuff… Nothing I can fully talk about yet. But if I put my heart into it, I’ll probably go in that direction.”
