Amitabh Bachchan will lend his iconic voice to Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious upcoming film. Reports say the legendary actor will voice the character of Jatayu and also serve as the film’s spiritual narrator.
An insider revealed, “We are exploring the idea of having Bachchan as the sutradhar. His voice adds gravitas that no one else can match. The makers are keen that the film opens with his voice. It’s still at the discussion stage.”
The film had a high-profile global reveal on July 3, with Ramayana: The Introduction launching simultaneously in nine Indian cities and even lighting up Times Square in New York. The project, directed by Namit Malhotra and co-produced by actor Yash, promises to reimagine the epic using state-of-the-art technology and an international team of Oscar-winning creators.
Sunny Deol, who is set to play Hanuman, has not begun shooting yet but shared his thoughts on stepping into the role. “It will be exciting, it will be fun. It’s going to be beautiful,” he said. Still, he acknowledged the pressure of playing such a revered figure. “That nervousness is the beauty of it. You have to find it within yourself to rise to the challenge.”
