Whether the star kid of Bollywood is born to a film family or not, it certainly comes along with the word “nepotism.” Latest to enter this realm is Aryan Khan, who happens to be the son of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Aryan Khan Playing Safe Debut; privilege or PR?
Unlike others, who faced the music of trolling and criticism when they made their debut. Aryan seems to be through what one would call a “safe debut” since both his parents are producers backing his first venture. And with insiders taking care of the show, Aryan’s entry appears more saved than other star kids subjected to the rougher public scrutiny.
Like their predecessors Janhvi (Dhadak), Ananya Panday (Student of the Year 2). Or even Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor, whose first films are in the works, there was negativity surrounding them. Shanaya Kapoor and Ahan Panday were tagged as “nepo kids” before even filming their first shots, and Arjun, despite being backed by YRF, was no exception to all the trolling.
Ibrahim Ali Khan is already in the radar and will soon be on this same trail of commentary. Most importantly, these star kids started gracing films established by most reputable banners but without their parents. Directly producing or safeguarding the launch, making them an easier target for the “nepo kid” narrative.
Aryan was recently heard commenting on a public platform saying how nervous he was giving his first little speech: “Mistake hogaye toh papa hai.” Though the comment evoked chuckles. It still hinted at the kind of cushioning he possesses, something most newcomers wouldn’t in their wildest dreams lay hands on. It’s just that, like in the time that Alia Bhatt, in the early years of her career. Was trolled for privilege that was purportedly gained despite her talent eventually winning audiences over, this statement would echo.
An Advantage or an Intelligent PR Strategy?

Aryan may be playing things steeper now, but at the end of the day, his work will have to speak louder than his surname.
