The much-awaited Bigg Boss 19 is set to premiere with Salman Khan on the weekend of August 29–30, 2025. This season brings a major change in format. For the first time, the show will launch as a digital-first property on JioCinema, with episodes dropping on OTT before airing on Colors TV.
The delay between OTT and TV release will be around 90 minutes, giving streaming audiences early access. This hybrid rollout is a strategic move to capture India’s booming digital viewership.
While Salman Khan returns as the main face of the show, he won’t host the entire season. He is expected to anchor the first three months, after which three other Bollywood names will take over.
Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor are confirmed to step in as rotating hosts for the remaining two months. It is yet to be decided whether they will appear individually or alternate each week. Salman, however, is expected to return for the grand finale.
This season will run for an extended period of five months, making it one of the longest Bigg Boss seasons yet. The extended duration allows more time for wild cards, twists, and audience engagement.
The show will begin with about 15 contestants, with 3–5 wild card entries joining mid-season. Over 20 celebrities and influencers have been approached so far. Some of the names in talks include:
Ram Kapoor & Gautami Kapoor, Munmun Dutta, Anita Hassanandani, Alisha Panwar, Tanushree Dutta, Sharad Malhotra, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Paras Kalnawat, Mr. Faisu, Krishna Shroff, Gaurav Taneja, Raj Kundra, Daisy Shah, Kanika Mann, and Chinki Minki. This mix of TV stars, influencers, and film personalities promises a volatile and high-voltage season.
