Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, have been issued a lookout notice by Mumbai Police. This comes amid allegations of defrauding a Mumbai-based businessman of over ₹60 crore in a loan and investment deal tied to their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.
Businessman Deepak Kothari accused the couple of cheating him between 2015 and 2023. He claims that funds meant for expanding their business were instead diverted for personal use. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is currently probing the case and examining travel records of both Shilpa and Raj. The company’s auditor has also been called in for questioning.
Amidst these developments, Shilpa Shetty announced the closure of her popular Mumbai restaurant, Bastian Bandra, on September 3. She posted an emotional farewell on social media, calling it “the end of an era” and thanking patrons for their support over the years. She promised a special final event to celebrate the restaurant’s legacy.
However, Shilpa clarified that this is not a permanent shutdown. The Bandra location will soon be transformed into Ammakai, a South Indian restaurant specializing in Mangalorean cuisine, expected to open by mid-October. Additionally, the Bastian brand will continue with the launch of Bastian Beach Club in Juhu, offering fresh experiences for its loyal fans.

While the investigation unfolds, Shilpa’s legal team denies any wrongdoing. They state that the investment issue was already resolved through the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in 2024. The lookout notice ensures the couple remains available for further inquiries. As the case progresses, Bollywood watchers and fans eagerly await the next chapter in this high-profile saga.
