Dhadak 2 vs Son of Sardaar 2: Bollywood’s Big Clash Set for August 1. Bollywood is kind of gearing up for a drag-down box office fight. Wherein Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s romantic drama Dhadak 2 holds its ground. Against the patriotic comedy sequel to Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2. Both the films are seeing the light of release on August 1, 2025-casting for a very different type of cinematic weekend for the audiences.

Initially set for July 25, Son of Sardaar 2 got postponed just days before its release to land directly on the same date as Dhadak 2. The general assumption was that the move was made so as to provide breathing space to the current box-office composition of Ahaan Panday’s Saiyaara, but it brings both major sequels into a direct clash.

Dhadak 2: A Bold Romantic Saga
Helmed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is a spiritual successor to the 2018 hit Dhadak. It stars Siddhant and Triptii as law students of different casts who fall in love and face societal resistance. The Hindi adaptation of this Tamil classic Pariyerum Perumal has received glowing early reactions to its trailer and music.

Backed by Dharma Productions, the team has confirmed:

“Dhadak 2 stays rock solid on its original release plan — August 1. The team is going ahead confidently, riding on strong early reactions to the lead pairing.”

🇮🇳 Son of Sardaar 2: The Return of Patriotic Comedy
After fun-filled antics of Ajay Devgn as Jassi in the sequel, he is joined, for the first time, by Mrunal Thakur, who also promises to entertain. The trailer liberally mixes humor with patriotism, mentioning Pakistan and taking a swipe at Sunny Deol’s Border 2. The emotional weight of Mukul Dev’s demise in between will add to the release.

Jio Studios and Devgn Films present the sequel-forging fresh ground and in the capable redirection of this year’s Twice success-with an excellent ensemble cast, including Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, and Kubbra Sait.
