Actress Rejected Rajinikanth Film:
Superstar Rajinikanth is one of the biggest names in Indian cinema. For decades, he has entertained audiences with blockbuster movies and has created a massive fan following not just in Tamil Nadu, but across India and even abroad. From being a simple bus conductor to becoming a legendary actor, his journey has been an inspiration to millions.
Rajinikanth entered films in 1975 with Apoorva Raagangal, directed by K. Balachander. In his early career, he was known for playing negative roles. Later, he became a successful hero and went on to act in more than 100 films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. His unique style, powerful dialogues, and screen presence made him a superstar. Even at the age of 70 plus, he continues to deliver hits like Jailer and Coolie.
Usually, every actress dreams of acting alongside Rajinikanth. But surprisingly, one top actress had rejected offers to act with him not once, but three times. That actress is none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
When director K. S. Ravikumar planned Padayappa, the famous role of Neelambari was first offered to Aishwarya. However, she could not accept it due to other commitments, and the role went to Ramya Krishnan, which later became iconic. Later, Rajinikanth’s Baba also approached her, but she politely declined, and Manisha Koirala played the heroine. Again, for Chandramukhi and Sivaji, her name was considered, but things did not work out.
Finally, it was director Shankar who convinced her to act opposite Rajinikanth in Enthiran (Robot), which became a huge success. Fans loved seeing them together on screen.
Today, Aishwarya is away from films, but this story shows how even the biggest stars sometimes say no to roles. Still, destiny made sure she finally shared the screen with the superstar in one of the most memorable films of Indian cinema.
