Acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is facing legal trouble over his upcoming film Love & War.
An FIR has been registered against Sanjay Leela Bhansali and two team members in Bikaner, Rajasthan. A local man accused them of fraud, breach of trust, and criminal intimidation.
The complainant, Prateek Raj Mathur, said Bhansali’s team hired him as a line producer. He claimed he arranged all shoot logistics and coordinated with government officials. Later, they removed him from the project without giving any payment.
Police Begin Investigation
According to police sources, Bhansali and his team had initially signed a contract with Mathur. However, they allegedly dropped him without notice and did not pay for the services he arranged. When Mathur approached them at their hotel, he claimed the team misbehaved with him. Based on his complaint, the Bichhwal police registered the FIR under charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy, and intimidation. The case is now under investigation.
Love & War is one of Bhansali’s most anticipated projects. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in a dramatic love triangle set against the backdrop of war. Inspired by Raj Kapoor’s Sangam, the movie promises Bhansali’s signature blend of emotion, grandeur, and visual richness. Production recently wrapped its first schedule in Mumbai. The next phase is scheduled for Mhow, a cantonment town known for its historical charm and colonial-era architecture.

This isn’t the first time Bhansali has faced backlash while filming in Rajasthan. His 2018 film Padmaavat faced protests and legal issues before its release. Whether Love & War meets the same fate remains to be seen.
The film is scheduled to release on March 26, 2026.
