Good Wife Review: The latest edition to the Tamil web series space is Good Wife (2025), streamable on JioHotstar. This six-episode series is densely packed with legal suspense and intense emotions. Directed by top-voted veteran actress Revathy, this show is a remake in Tamil by filmmaker Halitha Shameem, based on the much-hyped American legal drama, The Good Wife.
This revolves around Priyamani’s character who resumes her lawyer life after her husband’s (played by Sampath Raj) important involvement in a controversial sex scandal and captured national media frenzy at the core of their family as she holds herself and porod against complex courtroom battles. Meanwhile, actor Aari Arjunan plays a fellow advocate-and-other layers-of-his-own character that adds tension-warmth to the story.
Sensitively and precisely, director Revathy does handle the courtroom melodrama and emotional scenes. The writing is not only around legal thrillers but also offers themes holding-on betrayal, dignity, inner strength, and moral ambiguity. Priyamani’s character personifies conflict and stubborn will power-a woman trying to piece back a life broken into shards, the real emotional core of the show.
The courtroom scenes do get pretty entertaining, if at times a little overdramatic. But they balance personally being dramas with a professionally shining comeback to interest the viewer.
