Hridayapoorvam Vs Lokah Box Office Collections: In the battle of Hrudayapoorvam and Lokah, both films were buzzing even before their release; however, now that they have hit the box office on day one, we can rest easy as the numbers will clearly tell us which of these two films managed to score bigger at the ticket counters.
As well as starring Mohanlal in a touching role, Hrudayapoorvam is alongside Malavika Mohanan and is expected to appeal to family audiences. It opened to good occupancy in Kerala, and very healthy collections in the evening shows. Hrudayapoorvam earned ₹3.25 crore on its first day, enough to make it the clear winner in the clash. The emotional appeal and star power of Mohanlal ensured a very solid start.
A youthful cast and quite stylish action sequences indeed enjoy a targeted audience so Lokah is primarily for the youth and urban multiplexes. With wide promotion and high buzz, the opening day figure stood at ₹2.60 crore. Considerable, it was, but not as promising as that of Hrudayapoorvam. The genre kept its share of footfalls, but it would be important to maintain momentum over the next few days.
Between the two, Hrudayapoorvam captured ₹65 lakh more than Lokah on its very first day. So the winning family drama has a pretty strong upper hand in the initial box office race. But then trade pundits say that Lokah has a chance of definitely growing over the weekend in terms of footfalls if some positive word of mouth spreads among the youth.

The battle still goes on. Even though Hrudayapoorvam has an advantage due to strong familial appeal, Lokah has the potential to do better through repeat viewership, thanks to its action-loving viewers. What would be a game changer would be the collections this weekend. Hrudayapoorvam is, for now, the clear winner on opening day.
