A petition has been filed against the film Good Bad Ugly starring Ajith Kumar. Ilayaraaja has alleged in his petition that his songs were used in the film without permission and that this is a violation of copyright law. He has demanded a compensation of Rs 5 crore. The court has said that the petition will be considered on Monday. Meanwhile, the makers of the film have informed that permission has been received from the rightful owners.
Good Bad Ugly hit the theatres on April 10. Ilayaraja’s lawyer had sent a notice on April 15. The complaint was that three of his songs were used in the film without permission. The notice demanded Rs 5 crore as compensation and that the songs be removed from the film within seven days. Ilayaraja had warned that he would take legal action if the money was not paid. Ilayaraja has previously sent notices to many filmmakers, citing the use of his songs without permission.
Good Bad Ugly is a film directed by Adhik Ravichandran. It collected around Rs 100 crore in five days of its release. Good Bad Ugly, which is set to be a mass action film, has a big star cast including Sunil, Shine Tom Chacko, Prasanna, Jackie Shroff, Prabhu, Yogi Babu, Trisha, Priya Varrier, Simran. The producers are Pushpa Productions’ Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series. The music of the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
