Filmmaker Karan Johar recently opened up about a transformative year filled with self-discovery and clarity. Sharing pictures from a peaceful getaway, he captioned them: “The Sun … the Sea … The Clarity…” In a heartfelt Instagram post, he revealed that 2025 has been about “internal revaluations, revelations, and resolutions,” signaling a fresh start in his life and career.
Karan made a promise to himself: he will be back on film sets in 2026. “That is not only my happy space and place but also my only calling in life .. to tell stories with all the prerequisites of good old-fashioned Hindi cinema,” he wrote. He emphasized that storytelling is in his DNA and expressed a renewed commitment to creating films that resonate deeply with audiences, rather than trying to please everyone else.
Earlier this month, Karan celebrated the 19th anniversary of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK), a film close to his heart. He called it “a love story that transcends time,” praising the talented cast and crew who made the film bold, brave, and heartfelt. For Karan, KANK remains one of his most cherished works.
Karan described his thoughts as a “melange of random thoughts” but assured fans they come with “so much clarity.” He ended his post with a message of seizing the moment and appreciation for his supporters. “My 2.0 version begins now,” he said. “Love you all.”
