Actor Vikrant Massey has officially exited Don 3, prompting the makers to look for a new antagonist. Now, television and reality show personality Karan Veer Mehra is reportedly being considered for the part. He was recently spotted outside the Excel Entertainment office, sparking speculation about his entry into the high-octane action franchise.
Sources close to the development say Mehra has impressed producers with his recent performance in the upcoming film Silaa. His physical transformation and intense screen presence in the role of Zehraak reportedly caught the eyes of the Don 3 casting team. While no final decision has been made, Mehra is currently among the top contenders for the villain’s role.
Don 3 is directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Excel Entertainment. The third installment of the franchise introduces Ranveer Singh in the lead, taking over the iconic role once played by Shah Rukh Khan. Kriti Sanon has been officially announced as the female lead. The film is expected to begin production in early 2026 and will release in theatres in December that year.
The Don series began with the 1978 film starring Amitabh Bachchan. It was rebooted in 2006 and followed by a 2011 sequel. Both starred Shah Rukh Khan and were helmed by Farhan Akhtar. With Ranveer stepping into the lead, the franchise is set for a new chapter, backed by high-end production, slick action, and an updated storyline.
