Kingdom Day 2 Box Office Collections: Vijay Deverakonda forays back into the big screen with Kingdom, which promises a massy, action entertainer that is touted to give a powerful role to the actor. The film is directed by an up-and-coming filmmaker who took the movie on an intense promotional campaign. All this made a lot of buzz for the film even before its release. With high hopes hanging onto it, especially after a couple of lukewarm performances in Vijay’s recent films, Kingdom was being considered a make-or-break project.
The film is multi-lingual and is being released across India, but it has come to this strong competition from Pawan Kalyan’s period action film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which hits the screens on July 24. However, Kingdom managed to have some initial audience interest among those who reported watching the film.
As per trade reports, Kingdom netted around ₹11.21 crores on Day 2 (Friday). Bringing the film’s total domestic net collection to ₹29.21 crores in two days. The film opened very well on Thursday, netting around ₹17 crore, and saw an average occupancy of 36.24 percent; however, there has been a considerable drop in footfall on Day 2.
Meanwhile, the team claims that Kingdom has grossed ₹39 crore across the globe on its opening day, adding another 13 crore from these markets along with early bulk bookings. These figures, though high, indicate that the project is still long before hitting its break-even point.

Now the weekend is pretty much the crux for Kingdom. If these crammed crowds can be drawn starting today into Saturday and Sunday. It could come into the ballpark of the recovery of those gigantic production and marketing costs. But competing releases are plentiful, and word-of-mouth is mixed. Sustained public interest will be required by Vijay Deverakonda and his team to yield long-term results.
