Tamil OTT Releases: Finally, the Coolie phase is finished. When the movie first came out, it was met with a lot of negative reviews. Thus, the Tamil film industry is continuing to have its share of setbacks this year. Even though this year’s star-studded movies haven’t been all that great, the show goes on, and there are some intriguing releases planned for later this month and next year. You can binge-watch some of these movies this weekend.

1. Maareesan:

Maareesan unfolds as a slow-burning thriller drama set against the backdrop of a road journey. Starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, the film narrates the story of a small-time burglar who breaks into a house and encounters an elderly man claiming to have Alzheimer’s. At first, the burglar agrees to the old man’s request to drop him off in another town, planning to rob him of his money. However, as the journey progresses, the burglar gradually discovers the old man’s hidden machinations.

Moreover, director Sudheesh Sankar brings the gripping narrative to life with a screenplay written by Krishna Moorthy. Together, they create a story that blends crime, suspense, and psychological drama, keeping viewers engaged until the very end.

2. Indra:
Vasanth Ravi plays the lead in the Tamil thriller Indra. It is anticipated to be a horror thriller and is Sabarish Nanda’s first time directing. The cast also includes Mehreen Pirzada, Anikha Surendaran, and Telugu actor Sunil.

3. Thalaivan Thalaivii:

Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen play the lead roles in the Tamil romantic family drama Thalaivan Thalaivii. Director Pandiraj will soon release the movie for streaming on Prime Video. The story follows the lives of two stubborn characters, Arasi and Agasaveeran. It shows how the pair met, got married, and faced tragedies after Agasaveeran ruined their daughter’s tonsure ceremony. Along with the lead actors, Yogi Babu, Mynaa Nandhini, RK Suresh, Kaali Venkat, and Chemban Vinod also play key roles in the film.
