Little Hearts: Telugu Cinema’s recent sensational blockbuster hit ‘Little Hearts’ has been a talking point ever since its release. After watching the film super star Mahesh Babu personally took to his X space and expressed his thoughts on the film, he congratulated the entire cast and crew of the film. Praised them to the sky.

Director’s wish

Little Hearts is written and directed by Sai Marthand. He is presently in the works of making Little Hearts ‘2’. Interesting thing is he is also acting in the film. Now, in a recent interview he said that he is an ardent fan of the super star and if given a chance to do a film with him, he will make an out and out love story with the actor. 

This manifestation of Sai Marthand is very hopeful and Mahesh Babu is very suitable for a love story but throughout his career did he ever acted in one?

Mahesh Babu started his career with love stories, he debuted with K.Raghavender Rao’s ‘Rajakumarudu’. That is a complete romantic entertainer, then he acted in ‘Yuvaraju’, ‘Vamsi’, ‘Murari’ which are love stories with different sub-genres, Murari has supernatural themes, Vamsi had unplanned pregnancy in love, Yuvaraju is a straight love story. 

Shift to Mass cinema

After these initial four movies Mahesh never fully acted in a full on Love story. He completely gave himself to make mass commercial telugu films. Once in a while he shifted to do an experimental film but that too has a mainstream angle in them. Take an example ‘Nani’ , this film is a sci-fi movie that has love shown from two most important women in a man’s life, one is mother and the other wife. Basically unconditional love and conditional love are shown in the film. 

Sai Marthand

Even though he made only one film. We can sense that his sensibilities are light hearted in nature, emotions are explored on the surface, there are no deep layers of exploration in the script. He simply showed a part of his life experience. Now, Mahesh Babu is in phase of his life where mere touch of regularity is not enough in his films, after completing Rajamouli’s film, he will definitely will reach his career peak heights, Sai Marthand has to reach that level of thinking to do a normal love story with Mahesh Babu. well let’s hope Mahesh and Marthand may work in the future to produce a good film like ‘Little Hearts’
