Mammootty and Mohanlal Movie: Fans are waiting for a new film in which Mammootty and Mohanlal will be together. The two will be teaming up in a film directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film, tentatively titled MMMN, is being prepared on a big budget. Director Sibi Malayil revealed in an old interview about a film written by MT Vasudevan Nair with Mohanlal and Mammootty in the lead roles, which is now being discussed again.
In an interview given to Club FM, director Sibi Malayil revealed about MT Vasudevan Nair’s failed film. While talking about the classic film Sadayam, Sibi Malayil also revealed about that failed film. Sibi Malayil says in the introduction that he did not know at that time whether he could do a film with MT sir. Director Sibi Malayil also clarifies that it was not even in a distant dream.
Once, Vijayakumar of Seven Arts asked him if he would plan a film based on the script of MT Vasudevan Nair. He was familiar with the fact that they were the distributors of the film His Highness Abdullah. I was surprised. I could not approach him.
Vijayakumar clarified that he would ask MT for a script. MT also said that he would do Julius Caesar. The idea was to do a film with Mammootty and Mohanlal. I did not think that it was a film that would fit in my hands. However, since MT and Vijayakumar were together, I went ahead with the film a little. I went to see the location. We visited the Mysore Palace. When the casting was done, it became a big-budget film.
At that time, it was impossible to make a film with such a budget in Malayalam. There was no market. So I gave it up. I thought that my dream of a film with MT sir would no longer come true. That’s when MT Vasudevan Nair sir asked me if I should make the story Shatru into a film. That’s how Sadayam became a film. Sibi Malayil also makes it clear in that interview that Sadayam is a film made with effort.
