During the “This or That” segment, Priyanka was asked to pick between various global dishes. When it came to vada pav versus hot dog, she picked hot dog without hesitation. She said, “I love a vada pav, but hot dog is my weakness.” While she chose samosas over empanadas and was neutral about enchiladas versus chicken tikka masala, it was her hot dog preference that caught the most attention.
The comment instantly sparked outrage on social media. Indian fans felt betrayed by the choice, calling it a “blasphemy.” One fan even tweeted, “She’s not our ‘Desi girl’ anymore. She’s ‘Pardesi girl’ now.” Others pointed out that choosing a hot dog over the beloved vada pav was unthinkable. “Who chooses hot dog over vada pav?” one user commented, while another quipped, “Even if I weren’t Indian, I would pick a samosa over anything!”
The trolling continued to escalate on X (formerly Twitter), with some users expressing strong opinions. One user wrote, “A hot dog over vada pav? Seriously? Even white people would pick vada pav over a slimy, processed hot dog.” This statement sums up the frustration of fans who felt Priyanka was trying too hard to embrace American culture.
