The wait for Ravi Teja’s upcoming mass entertainer Mass Jathara just got longer. Originally scheduled for release on August 27, the film has been pushed back due to delays in post-production caused by the recent 18-day Tollywood strike.
Producer Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments hinted at the postponement through a cryptic post on social media platform X. His message read, “At the cinemas for the cinema, always! See you all with our next outing #MassJathara, Very Soon!”
Trade circles now report that a September release is off the table, as the month is packed with big-ticket Telugu films. Instead, the makers are considering a date towards the end of October to avoid the crowded release calendar. This strategic move mirrors a similar decision taken by actor Ram Pothineni, who delayed his film Andhra King Taluka for the same reason.
Mass Jathara is directed by debutant Bhanu Bhogavarapu, best known for his work as a writer. Ravi Teja plays a Railway Police Officer, while Sreeleela stars as the female lead. The film also features comedy veteran Rajendra Prasad and music by Bheems Ceciroleo. The teaser, released on August 11, showcased Ravi Teja in a full-blown mass avatar, complete with action, romance, and dance. However, initial response to the teaser has been lukewarm. Still, fans are hopeful it will deliver the energetic punch typical of Ravi Teja’s films.
