Rose posted Instagram pics from her travels during BLACKPINK’s DEADLINE tour, including a shot of her eating cup ramen beside cans of Coca‑Cola and Sprite. The canned drinks are currently on the BDS movement’s boycott list amid the Gaza conflict. Online critics accused her of promoting brands linked to the Israel-Gaza conflict, both drinks are on global boycott lists.
BLINKs were quick to push back. Many argued the drinks were likely part of the hotel minibar and not a paid promotion. “She’s literally eating noodles calm down,” one user posted. Others slammed the criticism as exaggerated and pointed out that the cans were untouched.
The controversy intensified when a 2022 selfie of Rosé and actress Gal Gadot resurfaced. Some questioned why Rose hadn’t been criticized earlier, given Gadot’s vocal support for Israel. Still, many fans stood by Rose, urging people not to twist her past interactions into political statements.
Controversy aside, Rose’s work front is thriving. Her 2024 debut solo album Rosie topped charts in South Korea and made the top 3 on the Billboard 200. The title track broke multiple streaming records, and she secured major fashion campaigns with YSL, Rimowa, and Puma. Rose is now seen as one of K-pop’s most powerful solo female acts.
