Shodha on OTT: The Kannada web series Shodha, which stars actor-director Pawan Kumar in his debut leading role, was scheduled to premiere on Zee5 on August 22. Following the start of promotions and the release of a teaser to offer viewers an idea of what to expect, the platform abruptly announced a change. The premiere date of Shodha was being rescheduled to August 29.
Shodha OTT Postponed:
At a press briefing on the change, RJ Pradeepa, Zee5’s Head of Originals, stated that Shodha features several important cameos, including one by Kantara’s Saptami Gowda. He explained that the team delayed the release to add a few more scenes with her to enhance the story’s interest and intrigue. Sunil Mysuru (of Orchestra, Mysuru! fame) directed Shodha, with Anusha Ranganath, Siri Ravikumar, and Arun Sagar playing key roles.
Shodha Plot and Details:
Pawan plays Rohit, a Madikeri lawyer whose life turns upside down when he fails to recognize his wife, Meera (Siri Ravikumar). She claims he suffers from brain trauma, but he insists she is an imposter and part of a complex plot to drive him insane. The story raises two questions: Who is telling the truth, and what does anyone gain by proving Rohit insane? This forms the central idea of Shodha.

Shodha OTT Details:
The show still has six episodes, each lasting 20 minutes, even after the team added more sequences with Saptami. Reports state that Zee5’s latest offering, Shodha, follows the success of Ayyana Mane and remakes the 2024 Hindi serial Khoj – Parchaiyo Ke Uss Paar, which is also available on the same platform.
Pawan, who also worked as the “script doctor,” admitted that Shodha originated from an older story adapted multiple times over the years, though the producers have not confirmed this. Arun Sagar makes his web series debut in Shodha, playing a police officer for the first time. Siri, who previously appeared in Kyaabre and By Mistake, also features in the series. Pawan has earlier acted in Kudi Yedamaithe (Telugu) and Honeymoon (Kannada).
