Shruti Haasan stepped out to catch the first day, first show of her new film Coolie in Chennai. But the film’s lead ran into an unexpected roadblock, an overzealous security guard stopped her and her friends at the entrance. Caught on camera, Shruti leaned out of her car and broke the ice with: “I am in the movie. Please allow me, anna (brother). I am the heroine, sir.” The moment broke into laughter as the guard finally waved them in.
The video, shared by rapper Yung Raja on Instagram and later reposted by Vettri Theatres owner Rakesh Gowthaman on X, quickly went viral. Gowthaman playfully captioned it: “My man Raayal over performed his duty. Hilarious moment. Thanks for being with us @shrutihaasan mam… Hope you enjoyed the show!!! #CoolieFDFS in #Vettri.” Fans chimed in with amused reactions, ranging from “so respectful” to “suddenly protection turned comic.”
Viewers loved Shruti’s mix of humility and humor. One fan commented, “I love the way she calls Sir so respectful.” Another joked, “Shruti Haasan – Heroine (X) Audience (tick),” while one more teased, “Anna is like: No more free tickets.” Comments flooded in praising her grace, with many calling the incident “cute” and “endearing.”
