Association with G.V Prakash Kumar

Vetrimaaran and G.V Prakash have worked together for 4 films so far, Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Visaranai, Asuran. The fact that Vetri made 7 films so far tells you that this director-composer duo working together for 4 films, has their camaraderie set up with a solid foundation. 

However Vetri worked with Isaignani Ilayaraja for his last outing Viduthalai part 1 & 2, now with his new film with Simbu he is leaning towards Anirudh makes you wonder, is everything ok between two creative masters. 

STR 49 Promo will be out on October 4th

According to the latest reports, Vetrimaaran and Simbu shot for a promo recently and it will be released on October 4th. It is to be believed, in that promo more details about the film including the cast and crew will be revealed. 

STR 49 is not Vada chennai ‘2’

Ever since the project announcement happened, audiences speculated that this project is a sequel of Vada Chennai, however Vetrimaaran dismissed this news at a media event. Then a while back Dhanush while promoting his new directorial venture Idli Kadai stated that Vada Chennai ‘2’ will happen soon with him in the lead. 

This confirmation from both the star and the director put these speculations at rest. After Vetrimaaran completes his film with Simbu he will then move onto Vada Chennai ‘2’.

Vetri closed his production house

Vetrimaaran own production house Grass roots films recently produced ‘BAD GIRL’, he then announced that he will be shutting down his production house due to several reasons. This news shocked one and all because Vetri is a filmmaker who always encourages new talent in the making.
