In the Telugu television industry, Thanuja Puttaswamy, better known by her stage name Thanuja Gowda, is a well-known actress. She works in the Kannada and Telugu entertainment sectors and rose to fame as an actress in the Telugu television series Mudda Mandaram. Bangalore is where Thanuja was born and raised. There, she finished her schooling and earned her degree from Bangalore University. She was inspired to pursue acting as a career because she had a strong interest in it from an early age.

She made her big-screen debut in the Kannada horror movie 6-5=2. Before entering the television industry, she further explored roles in movies by acting in Dhande Boys. Although Thanuja’s TV career started with the Telugu series Andala Rakshasi, her fame was primarily brought about by Mudda Mandaram. She portrayed the well-liked character Parvathi in this show. Later, she started doing Tamil television, where she starred in Siva Manasula Sakthi. In addition to performing, Thanuja competed in and advanced to the finals of the Telugu cooking-comedy reality show Cooku with Jathiratnalu.
