Actors Who Refused Advertisements: In today’s crumbling film industry, brand endorsements are among the most significant income sources for celebrities. However, some actors stand out by rejecting advertisements worth crores and opting for principle and integrity above money. Here are those five stars who turned down huge ad deals.
The Superstar of Indian cinema has not done a single advertisement for more than three decades. He believes that only his identity should be tied to films and never allow a commercial; even if offered huge amounts, has always kept away from them.
Like his father, the late actor and politician N.T. Rama Rao, Balakrishna never endorsed even a single product. His principle is, as per him, that it’s exploitative to use his influence over fans to gain personal commercial gain; this is a stand he has had for years.
Following the massive success of Baahubali, Prabhas is among the top stars clamoring brands want to be affiliated with today, who reportedly rejected the offers worth hundreds of crores. He doesn’t like being associated with ads except for a very rare occasion.
Interestingly enough, Bachchan had mentioned he hailed from this stand wherein, even in the first aroma of his career, he declined an ad offer that was reputedly consulting more money than what his monthly salary was. Recently, he also returned the amount for a pan masala advertisement, citing ethical considerations. This is indicative of the concern, which he himself has in terms of the message he sends out to the public.
KGF star Yash turned down several multi-crore deals from brands, including a widely known pan masala company. He has openly stated that he wishes to endorse only products that resonate with a positive value and social responsibility, hence meaningfully using his influence.
