Actors Transitioned from TV to Big Screen: The whole transition to cinema from television is seldom easy. Actors from television always grapple with getting typecast and with whether they could make it to a big screen. Among them, however, some stars broke them all to prove that talent shines anywhere. 1. Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was not a very novel name in Indian cinema, as he had a long television history with Fauji and Circus, before being hailed as the global face of Indian cinema. In fact, his promising performances on TV were the stepping stones for his film debut in the early ’90s. Today, he is popularly regarded as the “King of Bollywood,” with a career of more than three decades to boast.

2. Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan is a performer brought to the screen by the sitcom Hum Paanch, then assumed to be an incredible aspect of redefining the woman’s portrayal in Indian film with such audacious performances in The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, and Tumhari Sulu. Her success saga is inspiring for every wannabe actor, for she has traveled newcomers who dared.


3. Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant was the heartthrob of all young girls after making an adorable Manav in Pavitra Rishta. He got seats filled to capacity in theatres and made that transition with Kai Po Che! and then moved from strength to strength with such stellar roles as in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Chhichhore. One of the very successful transitions from TV to film.

4. Yami Gautam

Yami first treated audience eyes on television with shows like Chand Ke Paar Chalo and then with Vicky Donor gained the attention of everybody. She has since shown a different side of herself through movies like Uri: The Surgical Strike and Thursday.

5. Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann started his acting career with being the winner of MTV Roadies, following which he entered the movies. He has earned critical acclaim and National Award for his risky but successful choices of characters in J. But he is mostly associated with popular yet controversial Vicky Donor, Andhadhun, and Article 15. With his sterling performance in those roles, he proved to everyone that he is here to stay.
