Vijay Sethupathi: In the film industry, it is well known that some actors, directors, producers, and casting directors exploit women under the guise of being respectable people. Many young women enter the industry dreaming of becoming heroines, but some are forced to abandon their dreams midway. While some surrender to such opportunities, the latest news causing a stir in Kollywood involves casting couch allegations against actor Vijay Sethupathi.
Casting Allegations against Vijay Sethupathi:
Recently, a doctor named Ramya Mohan tweeted that Vijay Sethupathi cheated her friend. She alleged that many in the industry pretend to be good people but exploit women. In her tweet, she said he took her friend into a caravan and fulfilled his desires. The tweet went viral in Kollywood and sparked intense discussions, but she deleted it soon after, making many believe the matter had ended.
Director Geetha Krishna backs the claims:

Fame, High Fees & Alleged Misconduct:
Geetha Krishna said he once requested Vijay Sethupathi for 10 days of shooting for his film, but the actor refused to accept a small role unless the story revolved around him and gave him more prominence than others. As Sethupathi’s fame grew, he reportedly increased his remuneration to ₹20–₹40 crore. Geetha Krishna accused him of misusing this money and targeting aspiring actresses. He claimed Sethupathi promised roles to many women, invited them into his caravan, and exploited them.
Serious Accusations of Misconduct:
The director claimed Vijay Sethupathi charged ₹2 lakh if a woman acting alongside the heroine entered his caravan, and demanded a different rate if she went to his room. Calling him a hypocrite, Geetha Krishna said the actor pretends to be a good man and refuses to act with women younger than him by claiming, “How can I romance a girl who is like my daughter?” Yet, according to the director, Sethupathi engages in such acts behind closed doors. “This is what happens when someone suddenly gets more money,” the director said, accusing Sethupathi of exploiting women.
