Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi has strongly denied recent sexual harassment allegations made against him on social media. The actor, known for hits like Maharaja, Viduthalai, and Super Deluxe, called the claims “filthy” and accused the accuser of seeking attention. He confirmed that his legal team has already filed a complaint with the cybercrime cell.
Vijay spoke exclusively to Deccan Chronicle about the controversy. He said, “Anyone who knows me even a little will laugh at this. Such filthy accusations can’t shake me.” He added, “My family and close friends are upset, but I tell them, ‘Let it slide. This woman is obviously doing it to be noticed.’ She wants her few minutes of fame.”
He confirmed that his legal team is handling the matter and has officially complained to cybercrime authorities. Vijay also revealed he has faced similar smear campaigns over the past seven years but has always come out unscathed.
The controversy began when a social media user named Ramya Mohan posted allegations accusing Vijay of sexual misconduct. She claimed the actor offered money for favors and pointed to a “drug-sex nexus” and casting couch culture in Kollywood. Ramya’s post, which sparked widespread debate, has since been deleted.

Vijay believes the timing of the accusations aims to damage his career. “My latest film Thalaivan Thalaivii is doing well. Jealous elements think they can hurt my film by attacking me. It won’t work,” he said. He also warned about social media’s power. “Today, anyone can post anything without filters or consequences.”
Vijay’s legal battle continues as he fights to protect his reputation amid growing online controversy.
