Vedika Prakash Shetty: Actor Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been taken into custody by Mumbai Police on suspicion of cheating the actress out of around Rs 76.9 lakh. Shetty, who worked with Alia from 2021 to 2024, is charged with stealing money from the actor’s personal and production accounts and forging signatures.
Alia Bhatt’s former PA Arrested?

Juhu Police arrested Alia Bhatt’s mother, veteran actress Soni Razdan, filed a complaint several months ago. After an extensive search, they tracked down Shetty in Bengaluru, arrested her, and brought her back to Mumbai. On Tuesday, July 9, 2025, Shetty appeared in court, and the judge remanded her to police custody until July 10. According to police sources, Shetty went into hiding and frequently changed locations to evade arrest. Authorities have booked her under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the newly enacted criminal law, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

While working as Alia Bhatt’s assistant, Shetty allegedly accessed private financial details, daily schedules, and administrative systems, including those of Alia’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions. Using this access, she reportedly forged the actor’s signature and siphoned money for personal use over two years. Authorities are reviewing her bank records to uncover any further anomalies as part of their ongoing investigation. Alia Bhatt has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
