Why Did Chiranjeevi Go to the High Court Today?

Chiranjeevi to High Court: Megastar Chiranjeevi approached the Telangana High Court on Monday, urging it to direct the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to respond to his pending application for the regularization of renovation work at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

According to sources, Chiranjeevi submitted the application to GHMC on June 5, seeking approval to regularize a retaining wall constructed as part of his home renovation. When GHMC failed to respond within a reasonable time, the actor sought legal recourse.

Court Hearing:

Justice B. Vijay Sen Reddy heard the case and concluded the proceedings. During the hearing, Chiranjeevi’s legal counsel informed the court that the actor secured construction permissions in 2002 for two additional floors above the ground floor. The lawyer further clarified that Chiranjeevi filed the current application as a precautionary step during renovation to ensure compliance. He alleged that GHMC ignored the request and failed to inspect the site or act on the application, despite receiving formal notice.

The court responded to the arguments and instructed GHMC to initiate legal action. Justice Reddy directed the civic body to process and resolve the application within four weeks, effectively closing the legal matter.

Chiranjeevi’s Film Line-Up:

While handling legal matters off-screen, Chiranjeevi continues to line up multiple films. He is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film ‘Vishwambhara’, directed by Vassishta Mallidi, which is expected to hit theatres by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi is also working on his next project, tentatively titled ‘Mega 157’, under the direction of Anil Ravipudi. The film is slated for release during Sankranthi 2025. Actress Nayanthara stars opposite Chiranjeevi, while child artist Iriya, known for her performance in Drama Juniors, plays a key role. With back-to-back projects and high expectations, fans are eager to see whether the megastar can deliver another blockbuster in his successful second innings.
