Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crashes into School Campus

Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crash: Straightened by the phenomena that rumbled through the skies of Uttara area in Dhaka, the sound of Bangladesh Air Force FT-7BGI falling into the barren and expansive campus of Milestone School and College at Sunday afternoon was nothing compared to the uneasiness that revolved around it. What was supposed to be another routine training flight turned into tragedy as it lost the pilot, Flight Lieutenant Tauqir, and injured at least four civilians. The problem now raises national pity and debates on the safety of aviation.

School Campus Turns Crash Site

At the time of impact, students and teachers went to school, increasing fears that a wider tragedy had occurred. The crash did not directly hit a class; however, the buildings took up near enough to give significant confusion and chaos. There were injuries to several people on the ground by debris and shockwaves from the crash. Emergency services were quick to arrive on the scene and rushed the injured to nearby hospitals.

Inquiry and Safety Questions

The authorities, however, have completely opened up an investigation into the cause of the crash. Initial reports might point toward mechanical failure or pilot error; however, no conclusions have yet been drawn. What keeps resurfacing amidst the tragedy is more the doubts concerned with the safety and reliability of China’s military aircraft. This has also included the FT-7BGI variant of the Chinese-built F-7 fighter.

Nation Mourns, Questions Arise
