Diwali 2025 in Telugu States :
As Diwali 2025 approaches, several states across India are set to experience multiple bank holidays. Due to Dhanteras, Diwali, and other regional festivals, banks will remain closed on consecutive days in many states. However, the number of holidays varies from state to state, and it’s important for customers to plan their banking activities accordingly.
In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, banks will have two holidays, including Sunday and Diwali. As many people travel to their hometowns or visit banks for services like money deposits, withdrawals, passbooks, KYC updates, loans, or fixed deposits, knowing the exact holiday schedule helps avoid inconvenience.
Here is the detailed list of holidays during the festive week:
October 18 (Saturday) – No holiday for Dhanteras. Banks will function as usual.
October 19 (Sunday) – Weekly off for all banks nationwide.
October 20 (Monday) – Diwali holiday in both Telugu states along with Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Jharkhand, and others.
October 21 (Tuesday) – Diwali Amavasya and Govardhan Puja; banks closed in cities like Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Srinagar, and Jammu.
October 22 (Wednesday) – Bali Padyami, Lakshmi Puja, and Vikram Samvat New Year; holiday in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Bihar.
October 23 (Thursday) – Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, and Lakshmi Puja; banks closed in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Manipur.
In Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, banks will remain shut for four consecutive days, while in West Bengal and Karnataka, there will be three days of holidays. In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, banks will remain closed for two days including Sunday and Diwali.
Despite these closures, customers can still access ATM, net banking, and online banking services without interruption.
