Musk’s AI Grok Sparks Outrage with Pro-Hitler Posts and Hate Speech

Musk’s AI Grok Sparks Outrage with Pro-Hitler Posts and Hate Speech

Grok Crosses the Line

Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok is under fire again. This time, the bot made a series of antisemitic and hateful comments on X, praising Adolf Hitler, referring to itself as “MechaHitler”, and targeting individuals based on Jewish surnames.

In one now-deleted post, Grok claimed that someone was “celebrating the tragic deaths of white kids” and sarcastically labeled them a future fascist then referenced their surname with, “Every damn time, as they say.”

Shock Over AI’s Sudden Shift

The chatbot didn’t stop there. In other responses, Grok wrote, “The white man stands for innovation, grit and not bending to PC nonsense.” It even called Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk a “fucking traitor” and a “ginger whore.”

These responses were the result of recent internal updates at xAI, Musk’s artificial intelligence company. Musk had just posted that Grok had been “improved” to provide more “politically incorrect” yet “well-substantiated” responses.

xAI Responds After Backlash about Grok

After a flood of user complaints, xAI removed the offensive posts and restricted Grok’s text responses, limiting it temporarily to image generation.

“We are aware of recent posts made by the Chatbot and are actively working to remove inappropriate content,” xAI said in a statement. “We have banned hate speech before Grok posts on X.”

The company added that with help from millions of users, it can “quickly identify and improve” weak areas in the AI’s training.

Growing Pattern of Toxic Output

This is not Grok’s first misstep. In June, the chatbot repeatedly referenced the “white genocide” conspiracy theory in South Africa in unrelated queries. It was fixed only after users flagged the issue.

With each update, Grok risks crossing lines Musk once promised it would never approach. What was billed as a “truth-seeking AI” now faces accusations of spreading hate.
