Schools Holiday 2026:
Students always feel happy when they hear the word “holiday.” If the holidays come suddenly, their joy becomes even bigger. Now, something similar may happen in Andhra Pradesh in 2026. As per the details shared by Zee News, school children might get an unexpected break of 21 days in the year 2026.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has released the optional holidays list for 2026. These optional holidays are usually given for personal traditions, religious events, and cultural practices. Schools, colleges, and government offices can choose which optional holidays they want to give. If school management decides to allow these optional holidays, students will enjoy a long set of leaves.
For 2026, the government announced 21 optional holidays, and this is the main reason students may get a long break. The list starts with New Year on January 1. After that, there are several important Muslim festivals like Hazrat Ali Birthday and Shab-e-Meraj.
In February and March, the list includes Shab-e-Barat, Jamat ul-Vida, and Shab-e-Qadr. On March 31, schools can give a holiday for Mahaveer Jayanti. Next comes Basava Jayanti on April 20. Buddha Purnima on May 1 is also part of the optional list.
In June, the government added Eid-e-Ghadir and Moharram. July has Rath Yatra, while August includes Arbayeen and Parsi New Year Day.
September 22 marks Yaz Dahum Sharif, and October has two special dates: Mahalaya Amavasya on October 10 and Hazrat Syed Mohammad Joonpuri Mehdi Birthday on October 27.
In November, there is Guru Nanak Jayanti on the 24th. December brings two more optional holidays Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.
Because the list has so many important days, schools may choose to give all or most of them. If that happens, children in Andhra Pradesh will enjoy a rare and surprising 21-day holiday stretch in 2026.
