TCA Files Complaint Against KTR, Kavitha: Alleged Irregularities in HCA Operations

TCA Files Complaint Against KTR, Kavitha: Alleged Irregularities in HCA Operations

TCA Alleges KTR, Kavitha’s Influence Over HCA

The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has filed a complaint against BRS leaders K Kavitha and KT Rama Rao (KTR). They have approached the CID and Enforcement Directorate. TCA accuses the two leaders of controlling the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). This control has led to serious irregularities in the HCA’s administration.

Ticketing and Vending Contracts Under Scrutiny

According to TCA president Yendala Laxmi Narayan and General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy, the IPL ticket sales contract was awarded to two websites owned by KTR’s brother-in-law, Raj Pakala. Furthermore, the TCA claims that several other vendorships, including food services at IPL matches, were granted to Surabhi Caterers, a company linked to both KTR and Kavitha. The same group reportedly handled the travel and hotel bookings for HCA events.

HCA President Arrested Amidst Allegations

This complaint comes just days after HCA president Arishnapally Jagan Mohan Rao was arrested on July 9 for serious irregularities. Rao allegedly pressured the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise over ticketing and governance issues. Earlier in IPL 2025, SRH accused HCA of harassment, particularly regarding complimentary tickets. Tensions escalated to the point where SRH threatened to find an alternate venue, prompting the Telangana government to launch an official probe.

SRH Accuses HCA of Harassment

SRH’s general manager (Sports), Srinath TB, alleged that the franchise faced increasing difficulties with HCA officials, especially President Rao. SRH allocates 10 percent of its complimentary tickets to the HCA, including access to a corporate box with 50 seats. However, this year, the HCA claimed the box could only accommodate 30 people and demanded 20 additional tickets from another box, which SRH found unreasonable. Additionally, SRH’s corporate box was reportedly locked during an SRH match, with HCA demanding more tickets in return.

“Blackmail” and Mismanagement

Srinath TB described the incident as “blackmail,” emphasizing the strain it placed on SRH-HCA relations. He highlighted that these issues had been recurring over the last two years, especially with President Jagan Mohan Rao.
