UGC NET June 2025 Results Declared, Over 1.8 Lakh Candidates Qualify

The NTA, National Testing Agency, has announced the results of UGC NET June of 2025. A very exciting day for anyone hoping to pursue a career in research or academia. The exam was highly competitive as the numbers represented many candidates. Candidates who appeared for this exam will now be able to download their scorecard online at the ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The NTA has also furnished the final answer key as well as cut-off details in the form of a PDF document.


 

A candidate can check their results by logging in to the website with their application number, date of birth, and also security pin. Logging in is an easy task with simple steps. Candidates are ask to log on to UGC NET official website, click on the scorecard download link of June 2025, put in their application number, date of birth and pin in the required space, and submit the information. This process makes it easy for all candidates to check if they are moving forward in any agreed upon direct or indirect opportunity relationship.


 

The UGC NET June 2025 exam featured extraordinary numbers, with 10,19,751 candidates registering for the test. In fact, 57.94% of all registrations were from female candidates, 42.05% of registrations were from male candidates and 0.01% in the third gender category. Ultimately, 7,52,007 of the candidates registered sat for the exam. 59.42% of the candidates that sat for the exam were female, 40.57% were male and 0.005% were third-gender candidates. The number of female candidates registered and taking the test further emphasizes the continued increase of female candidates in higher education and research oriented assessments.

 

The results provide great success to many categories of candidates. In total, 5,269 candidates qualified for both the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor award. 54,885 candidates qualified for the Assistant Professor award and eligibility for admission to a Ph.D. 1,28,179 candidates qualified for the Ph.D. award only. Given the numbers we see clearly the competitive nature of the exam and the great opportunity for different trajectories for higher academic attainment.

 

The NTA released also the full particulars of cut off scores for all subjects and all categories, that is also available as PDF on the official website. For the unreserved category, cut offs for some selected subjects are: Adult Education (172 for both JRF & Assistant Professor; 162 for Assistant Professor only), Anthropology (202, 184), Chemical Sciences (204, 188), Commerce (208, 194), Computer Science and Applications (212, 198), Economics (210, 196), and English (206, 192), etc. Other subjects with large cut off scores were Law (214, 200), Management (210, 194), Political Science (210, 194), basically demonstrating the rigorous qualifications expected today’s workers.

 

Most importantly, the NTA also stated that there will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of any of the UGC NET June 2025 results, as these results are based on the final answer key and for any incorrect (or dropped) question, the NTA awarded two marks (+2) for any candidate who responded to that question, simplifying the evaluation and qualifying process.
