Power Cut Alert in Hyderabad Today:
TSSPDCL will shut down electricity in several parts of Hyderabad on Friday to carry out essential maintenance work. Officials have announced targeted interruptions in power supply in the Greenlands, Allapur, and Chikkadpally divisions to ensure safe and reliable electricity service for consumers.
In the Greenlands area, power will be switched off in two phases.
Morning (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM): Electricity will be cut to the 11 kV Municipal Park and Hindu feeders. Affected localities include Sardar Patel Road, portions of Kundanbagh, and the surrounding residential pockets.
Afternoon (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM): Outage will hit the 11 kV ZDK Colony feeder, Keerthi Lal Jewellers feeder, and other Greenlands feeders. Households, shops, and small businesses in these feeder zones should plan. TSSPDCL Assistant Engineer Charan Singh told residents to switch off electrical equipment during the outage and keep refrigerator doors closed to prevent food spoilage.
Allapur Division
In the Allapur division, maintenance crews will work on shifting poles and upgrading lines for better service reliability. Power cuts are scheduled as follows:
Morning (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM): The 11 kV Maihum feeder emanating from the Ayyappa substation will be off. This affects areas from CJR School premises to Biryani Times Hotel.
Afternoon (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM): TSSPDCL will de-energize the 11 kV Sai Nagar feeder, affecting Ayyappa Society Roads No. 52 to No. 60 and the Society Office area.
Allapur AE Rakesh Goud urged residents to arrange alternative lighting and avoid using high-power appliances right after power returns to protect their equipment.
The Chikkadpally division will also see outages in two shifts under City-1 jurisdiction:
Morning (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM): The 11 kV Kavadiguda feeder will be off, affecting Marriott Hotel, Kavadiguda petrol pump vicinity, Koth Bazar, Hanuman Temple, Sandhya Bar, and Padmashali Colony.
Afternoon (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM): TSSPDCL will cut power on the Goshala feeder, affecting Lower Tank Bund area, Ambedkar Bhavan, Rajaka Colony, Sardarji Pump House, Tataguda, and Singadi Basti.
City-1 ADE Vinod Kumar requested cooperation from residents and businesses, reminding them that such planned outages are vital for upgrading the grid and reducing unplanned breakdowns in the future.
Advice to Residents
Charge mobile phones, laptops, and power banks ahead of the scheduled outages.
Keep flashlights, candles, or battery-operated lamps ready.
Unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from voltage fluctuations when power returns.
Plan essential activities around the outage windows to minimize inconvenience.
By notifying customers in advance, TSSPDCL aims to carry out necessary repairs safely and efficiently, ultimately improving the quality and stability of power supply across Hyderabad.
