Kadambari Jethwani Case: Former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence DGP PSR Anjaneyulu has been arrested by AP police. He is facing allegations in the case related to Mumbai based actress Kadambari Jethwani. The arrest took place in Hyderabad and he is listed as the second accused (A2) in the case.
Kadambari Jethwani Case:
PSR Anjaneyulu is a senior IPS officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre. CID officials arrested him in the early hours from his farmhouse in Moinabad. Police later shifted him to Vijayawada. The CID has also booked other police officers in this case. These include Vijayawada CP Kanthi Rana Tata, DCP Vishal Gunni, ACP Hanumantha Rao and CI Satyanarayana. All these officers secured anticipatory bail except PSR.
The case relates to a complaint filed by actress Kadambari Jethwani. The CID alleges that rules were violated during the investigation. It claims a false case was registered against an industrialist from Mumbai and pressure was applied on the actress to withdraw her complaint. CID says PSR Anjaneyulu played a key role in this strategy.
CID believes PSR acted behind the scenes, using his influence during his time as Intelligence Chief under the YSRCP government. He had a strong role in several high-profile cases. He was actively involved when TDP leader and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the Skill Development case. TDP leaders have often alleged that PSR misused his power to target the opposition.
PSR is currently under suspension. Despite being ordered to stay in Vijayawada, he was living in Hyderabad. AP CID tracked him and arrested him from his residence and farmhouse. Reports suggest the CID teams reached his Moinabad farmhouse around 7 AM and took him into custody.
This is not the first case against PSR Anjaneyulu. Earlier, MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju had accused him of custodial torture. Attempt murder charges were filed in that case. The latest arrest adds more controversy around PSR’s service in the Intelligence Department.
