AP CM Chandrababu Naidu: After his return from his European vacation this summer, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has a critical day in Delhi on April 22, holding meetings with four high-ranking Union Ministers. His trip to Delhi is also around a very significant phase in the functioning of his government as they plan to drive their ambitious agenda such as Amaravati development and construction of an international airport.


Planned Meetings with Union Ministers

The capital day for CM Naidu, according to the itinerary circulated by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), will be busy with important deliberations: At 10:30 AM, Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil will meet CM Naidu to seal major water projects and Andhra Pradesh’s resource management strategies. At 11:20 AM, Naidu is scheduled to hold a meeting with Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to discuss some legal and governance matters related to the state.

At 12:00 Noon, he will hold a meeting with Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, likely to deliberate on trade, investment, and industrial policies that will serve to better the economy of Andhra Pradesh. The final meeting of the day at 1:40 PM is with Home Minister Amit Shah, indicating potential talks on law and order, security, and administrative matters.


Mega City and Infrastructure Plans

CM Naidu’s meeting with the Union Ministers at a moment when his government is focusing on developing Amaravati is even more significant. His strategy is to merge Tadepalli, Guntur, Mangalagiri, and Vijayawada to create a larger urban system, highlighting it as a mega city.

Apart from that, Naidu is considering to bundle 30,000 acres of land to construct an international airport in Amaravati, improving connectivity and economic growth for the state.

Through such elevated deliberations on April 22, CM Naidu will likely more concretize Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructural plan and draw Union government support for his mega projects.
