TDP wins Kadiri and Gandlapenta elections

On May 19, 2025, elections were held for the Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Kadiri Municipality. The voting took place in the Kadiri Municipal Council Hall. Out of 36 council members, 11 members from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) were absent. The remaining 25 supported the TDP candidates.

With this majority, Dilshadunnisa was unanimously elected as Chairperson. Sudharani and Rajasekharachari were also elected unopposed as Vice-Chairpersons.

At the same time, Gandlapenta Mandal also witnessed a win for TDP. Gajjela Somushekar Reddy from TDP was unanimously elected as the Mandal Praja Parishad President (MPP). In the MPP body, four out of seven MPTC (Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency) members attended the meeting. All four were from the TDP. The three YSRCP members were absent.

Kadiri MLA Kandikunta Venkata Prasad congratulated the newly elected members and praised the support of local people and leaders in ensuring this win for TDP.

This win shows the growing strength of TDP in local governance. The absence of YSRCP members during the election played a key role in the unanimous selection of TDP candidates. It also signals a shift in political mood in certain parts of the district.

In summary, TDP has gained control of two important positions: Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons of Kadiri Municipality and also MPP post of Gandlapenta Mandal

This success adds to the party’s confidence ahead of future elections. It is expected that TDP will focus on local development and people’s welfare through these new leadership roles.
